Respite Care & Short Term Accommodation

Quality care for participants. Much-needed relief for carers.

A Break for Everyone Who Needs It

Caring for a person with a disability is deeply rewarding — but it's also demanding. Respite care and Short Term Accommodation (STA) provide temporary support so that informal carers (family members, partners, friends) can take a break, attend to their own needs, and recharge.

For participants, respite isn't just about receiving care — it's an opportunity to experience new environments, engage in fresh activities, try new routines, and build social connections outside the family home. Our respite services are designed to be enriching and enjoyable, not just custodial.

What We Offer

  • Short-term residential stays (1–14 days)
  • In-home respite (support workers attend the participant's home)
  • Community-based respite (day programs and outings)
  • Emergency respite (short-notice care when urgent situations arise)
  • Weekend and holiday programs
  • Overnight and 24/7 support during stays

Our Approach to Respite

We plan every respite stay around the participant's interests and goals. Before each stay, we consult with the participant and their family to understand preferences, routines, dietary needs, medication requirements, and any behavioural support plans. Our aim is for every participant to return home having had a genuinely positive experience.

NDIS Funding

Respite and STA are funded under NDIS Core Supports — "Assistance with Daily Life" — specifically under Short Term Accommodation line items. Your NDIS plan may include a set number of respite days per year. Contact us to discuss availability and booking.
